New Vision
Here are some of the things clients have had to say about their care at Shelby Memorial Hospital:

"I like the way I was treated like a person, rather than a person with a problem."

"I appreciated the continued assistance by the New Vision staff to help me to move on to the next stage of treatment. And also the kindness and understanding of the physician."

"Without them, I would still be addicted to heroin. I know it's not over, but the worst is. Thank you guys for all your help."
Drugs and Alcohol in the Workplace
The New Vision service has been in operation for 15 years. We have over 40 sites in hospitals across the country. We have been at Shelby Memorial Hospital since 2004.

Our medically supervised inpatient hospital stay typically lasts 3 days. Patients experience a safe and comfortable withdrawal from drugs and/or alcohol as well as a medical history assessment, physical, complete laboratory workup and a nursing assessment. We also assist with all discharge planning to appropriate community based aftercare programs.

The New Vision Service has qualified hospital personnel, which include a medical director and 24 hour nursing staff.

By utilizing their training and experience, the staff will insure that each person receives the attention necessary for safe medical stabilization in the Hospital.

Prior to being accepted for admission to the Hospital, every potential client receives an assessment which is reviewed by our staff, including our Medical Director. If a potential patient is found to be appropriate for admission to the Hospital, an admission time will be scheduled. If a patient is not found to meet criteria for Medical Stabilization, other options will be given to the patient.
